WHAT HAPPENS AFTER WE GET YOUR FORM
Once we get your form (do not wait till the last minute we may NOT be able to accommodate you), we will send you an email confirmation.
Next, the day before your stay you will receive the text the day before as a reminder.
We want to state how important it is that you keep your appointment time when dropping off. We do charge $10 for late (more than 15 minutes) no-show/no-call missed appointments. This includes when picking up. More than 30 minutes late no call/no show, we will cancel your appointment and will have to set it up for another time, possibly another day. So please text, email, or call you will be late or need to change your time. Multiple incidents of no show/no call missed appointments and we will NOT board for you for 6 calendar months from the last incident.
WHEN YOU DROP OFF:
COVID-19 Action: We ask that when you drop off you send in one person, who must be over 18 to drop off or pick up. Because of COVID-19, we ask that you wear a mask and not send in or bring in children.
We have a small reception area. We will take your guinea pig and place them in a plastic tote. We will then transport the guinea pig(s) to our boarding area to take up occupancy in the reserved cage. You are welcome to have a one-time tour of the boarding area...at this time, we are doing this until Covid-19 regulations have been lifted. Otherwise, whenever requested you can have access to the boarding area during your dropping off or picking up.
We will send home your carrier. We can not take any items for your guinea pigs' stay such as houses, snuggle sacs.. treats, etc. We will ask you to take them home.
We are happy to supply photos/videos as requested during your trip. We will NOT provide pictures/videos daily.
We feed hay in the mornings and feed all produced in the evening. We provide fresh produce daily, up to 5 varieties a day. Often you will find veggies in the transport bucket with your guinea pig when picking up. We know you are busy, and we want to be sure our little fellows have dinner before they go so you aren't rushed to feed when you get them home. You are welcome to take the uneaten produce home with your piggy.
If your piggy doesn't like what we are offering that evening for produce, we will offer alternatives so that they are never left out.
Hay is feed in abundance, not only for eating but to lay in...this ensures piggy has a place of comfort and can move the hay to where ever it gives them the most comfort.
Piggies are free-fed pellets unless otherwise noted by the owner. Guinea pigs are not gorgers and so they are liberally offered. They are the brand you indicated, or we use Oxbow products.
Guinea pig's nails are trimmed right before they are sent home. Exceptions to the free nail trim are guinea pigs under the age of 4 months are not trimmed because the nails are so small and other than being a bit sharp are to difficult to trim.
If an emergency medical issue arises, WE WILL TRY TO REACH YOU FIRST, but if we can't within a reasonable amount of time... we are going to follow your veterinarian's directive. You can list your veterinarian, your wishes for treatment, and the amount you wish to pay on your boarding form. It will be honored. It also should be noted that listing you are NOT willing to get veterinarian care for your animals, you will have to board elsewhere.
We will send you a text the day before you are scheduled to pick up as a reminder and to ask if you would like to be invoiced.
